What are my chances of getting into UCSB, San Francisco State, Mills College?
Q: My weighted GPA is 3.75 (unweighted, about 3.5) and my SAT score is 1900, but I'll take it back. I think I want to major in film studies, journalism, or global studies.
A: I think you have a good chance! You have good grades and are involved in sports and extracurricular activities. But remember, you can go to community college for 2 years, get all the credit transfer to a UC fact, and a 3.75 GPA or higher and you can get an acceptance letter guaranteed.

The chances of SF State is ok, but you might have a better chance at CSU Long Beach. If you improve your GPA and SAT, you might have a better chance at UCS.
How to score higher on the ACT?
Q: I took the ACT at the beginning of sophomore year and scored a 24, I took it again this past june at the end of junior year and scored a 25. I don't understand why I scored just the same when I have taken far more rigorous classes. This year I took AP Language and Composition,
A: I found that The Real ACT inflates your score, from reports from classmates. Regardless of the classes you take, the ACT is more about test-taking skills than actual knowledge. I had sufficient knowledge to do well in middle school, but I likely would not have because of my lack of proper test-taking skills.
It's really just practice.
